The Longaberger Foundation
The Longaberger Foundation was established in 1997 by family members Dave, Tami and Rachel Longaberger to formalize their commitment to make a difference in the lives of others. The Foundation's mission is to stimulate a better quality of life through philanthropy. Rachel Longaberger Stukey serves as the Foundation's President.
Areas of Grantmaking Focus
The Foundation has four areas of grantmaking focus:
- Promoting entrepreneurial principles
- Preserving American history and ideals
- Strengthening families
- Addressing regional quality of life needs
The Longaberger Foundation's strategic goal is to adopt a philanthropic style that is generally more proactive than reactive in grantmaking. It is the Foundation's intent to seek, find, and invest in programs that make a difference in people's lives within the context of the areas of focus.
To date, grants from The Longaberger Foundation have been awarded primarily in those areas of Ohio in which the majority of Longaberger employees and their families reside.
Dave Longaberger Fund for Children
A special fund within The Longaberger Foundation, the Dave Longaberger Fund for Children was created in 1999 to honor Dave Longaberger by providing funds to address the educational, recreational, health and family needs of children and to help them reach their full potential.
Grandma Bonnie Fund
The Grandma Bonnie Fund is a second special fund within the Foundation. Established in 2002 and named in honor of Bonnie Longaberger, the Fund's purpose is to alleviate hunger for those individuals and families in need, especially in Muskingum County, Ohio, and the surrounding Ohio region.
