Hello Friends,
It's the time of year when summer starts to wind down. Family vacations are wrapping up and kids are getting ready to go back to school.
Then the are some things that are just getting started or really picking up speed! Since the Bee great things have been happening. You made Horizon of Hope a huge success, raising money for great causes. We've launched White Washed and the Law Enforcement, Fire Fighter and EMT Baskets - all available all day every day, and customers are loving them! Our Halloween products are already a huge success and we're only halfway through August! And this week you'll hear more about our FRESH program, it's a fresh idea and a big opportunity for you.
I've started vising Home Consultants around the country. I, along with others from the Home Office, want to see as many of you as possible as we travel to your meetings and events this fall. In fact, I just hosted a dinner in Laguna Nigel, CA for a great group who grew their sales over last year!
Speaking of traveling - we've had even more people earn their trip to Cabo! Congratulations to Patty Dillon, Patty Marshall, Wendy Miekley, Susan Swartz, Cynthia Matthiesen, Sandy Winburg, Bobbi Mongan, Evelyn Short, Heather Gosma and Nancy Royce on earning what is going to be the trip of a lifetime. I can't wait to celebrate with you on the sand!
As you enjoy the remaining days of summer, I hope you feel the excitement I do for what lies ahead!

During the many visits I have made with you over the last year in your homes and hometowns, I have been listening carefully to your concerns, challenges and ideas that will help you achieve business success. You know with me it’s more than just listening – I have to take action on the things you tell me are important to you! So, I’ve combined some of your best ideas into a business opportunity for you.
One thing I discovered right away, while visiting with you, is the pride you take in sharing our handcrafted, quality products. We have the greatest handcrafted baskets and collectibles in the world – I know this for a fact. What makes our products even better are the ability they have to make people feel good and to create lifelong memories. People search the world every day – through you, through e-commerce, through personal connections – looking for Longaberger products to complete personal collections, present as gifts or to mark a special moment in time. It’s time we create our own Longaberger community that allows you to share directly with your fellow Longaberger lovers and collectors.
Our team is working on the complete details of this program, but here is what I want to provide to you and your Longaberger customers…

Dream Builder Career Plan
Updates
As John Jr. and Tina Smythe shared
from stage, we’ve made some exciting enhancements to the Dream Builder Career
Plan to honor the contributions and commitment of our Leaders. It is important
to John that aspiring Leaders be rewarded for their efforts in building a
strong, performing team. Therefore, effective with July month-end, Leaders will
be paid on the sales of their entire
team, including indirect recruits. Additionally, the team sales requirement
of $3,000 will be based on the
Leader’s personal sales, direct recruits’ sales and indirect recruits’ sales – their entire team’s sales.
To recognize every leader for their
performance, we also announced an update to the leadership titles in the Career
Plan which promoted 11 new Directors! Effective now, below are the new Career
Plan titles:

Longaberger is experiencing massive growth like never before!
At Bee 2016 in Dresden last week, we celebrated onstage with hundreds of your Longaberger friends as we recognized some outstanding accomplishments during the 2015-2016 sales year. New this year was a category for sales growth, which revealed some eye-opening statistics - more than 5,000 consultants experienced unparalleled growth in the past year, including a large number with sales growth of more than 100%! Longaberger is back!
It was also my privilege to announce enhancements to the Dream Builder Career Plan that will better recognize and reward leaders for their contributions and commitment to leadership, and - even more exciting - to introduce 11 new Directors!
As I looked at the crowd of now familiar faces at opening session on Thursday afternoon, I couldn’t help but compare Bee 2016 to last year’s Bee – my first - when we were just getting to know one another. This year, like many of you, I felt a sense of homecoming, a time of reunion with my Longaberger friends. And what a great reunion it was! We laughed (a LOT!) and cried and cheered, and we even danced and sang (well, OK – we lip-synced)! It was an amazing, crazy, awesome celebration!

At Longaberger, the new beginnings never end!
One of the truly amazing and dynamic things about our extended family is that we keep looking for new ways to grow. Even though the foundation of our business is built on a craft that is centuries old, we’re never the kind of people who sit back and drift along. We love to keep things interesting by making good and sensible changes.
I’ve been thinking about this as I’ve followed the tremendous progress of our team in uniting everyone in one location, at our manufacturing campus.
I’ve complimented the team before, and I must do it again – because the unification that we’ve worked for over many months is finally crossing the finish line!
Seeing everyone, from manufacturing to distribution to customer service to sales support and every member of our Home Office team come together in our new, unified headquarters home…well, it feels like a homecoming! And how appropriate the timing is: just in time for the Bee!
It may feel like summer outside – I know the folks who engineered the office move certainly felt the summer heat :) -- but in a way, it’s New Year’s Day. A new sales year, a new unified Home Office, a new Wish List coming…there are so many fresh and new things to celebrate!
When people think of summer, they might think of lazy days sitting in the shade – but in the world of Longaberger, we’re thinking about action, beginnings and excitement for the days to come.

Using Customer numbers at Homestead
In
the past we have suggested that your customers give your Consultant phone
number when shopping at Longaberger Homestead so you get credit for the order.
Since we’ve transitioned to the new system, it is now necessary for customers
to provide their customer number at checkout.
Please
give all of your customers their Customer Number. The customer
number is linked automatically to your Consultant Account. They will need to
take it with them when visiting Longaberger Homestead and use that number when
checking out. Just have them tell the Cashier: “My customer number is
_________”.

As a reminder, when we return from the 4th of July Holiday, our Consultant Support Team will be operating under their new service support hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET.
Retirement List
We have completed work on the new Fall & Winter WishList that will make its debut at Bee 2016 – and it’s fantastic. We can’t wait to share with you some beautiful new products and designs! But in order to make room for new, some old favorites have to retire, at least for the time being.
To help you best serve your customers, we’ve created an updated August 31 Retirement
List for you. As you will see, there are a few pottery pieces that are now available only “While Supplies Last”. As always, please refer to our Product Status Sheet for updates regarding availability and delivery status.
WoodCrafts Special Order Shelves
As we’ve stated before, you delivered overwhelming results on our first-ever WoodCrafts Special Order Shelves event. So much so, in fact, that we had to order in a lot more wood to produce the huge demand you created! We are thrilled to let you know that the vast majority of the shelves were shipped out in June, with only a few orders left to be shipped mid-next week after the holiday.
Month-End
- As a reminder, your personal and team sales for the previous month are not finalized until the month-end process is complete; online reports immediately following month-end may not display final totals
- Remember: the discount earned for sample purchases in the previous month will be updated when Month-End processing is complete
- Open Parties must be settled and closed to count toward month end sales and commissions
MailExpress
The September
2016 Flyers and the Fall & Winter WishList will be available to order through
MailExpress beginning July 10 at Your Account Page, Business Tools, Tools,
MailExpress. Orders must be submitted before midnight, Eastern Standard Time,
on July 31. September flyers and WishList will mail the week of August 22,
2016.
All
MailExpress mailings are now sent via First Class US Mail. This change
allows for more reliable and timely delivery of flyers to your customers. There
was a $0.15 per piece rate increase to accommodate this enhancement.

On page 15 of the WishList, the prices for the WOVEN Big Daddy Bowl and

Dear Longaberger Friend:
As we begin the long Fourth of July holiday weekend, I have a simple message this week. I just want to send from my family to yours our warmest wishes for a safe, fun holiday celebration!
Of all the holidays on the calendar, at least here in the United States, this one is as close to pure celebration as it gets.
Some of our holidays are religious. Others are about somber remembrance of sacrifice. In the case of the Fourth of July, it seems that it’s mostly about cheering – making joyful noises, with or without fireworks, to share our happiness at living in this, the most amazing and wonderful country in the world.
At Longaberger, there’s a good reason why we’re so proud of our baskets being handmade in the United States, by artisans whose craft goes back many generations right in America’s heartland. Somehow, to us, those baskets aren’t just baskets. They’re a piece of America…they give joy to us…joy to the customers who buy them…and joy to the men and women who make them.
 Pure joy – like the joy when people gather for a Fourth of July picnic...like the joy when we gather with our Longaberger family, as we will at the Bee in a few weeks.
It’s with that pride of our craft and our pride in our county that I’ve asked our basket makers to create a few baskets that celebrate America. The first basket in this collection is called the American Spirit Basket. It’s available beginning today -- and it’s beautiful!
Joy is all around us – at Longaberger, in our families and in our nation. Sure, there are things in the world that are far from joyful – but this weekend, we remember that woven around us is a basket of American joy.

We are all free and individual people but we still need and depend on others. Alone we cannot produce everything we need and that is what is beautiful about teamwork and collaboration, we don’t need to…
It is a necessary function to be united. Without it everything stops and ceases to be. Unity is a foundation which can be seen all over the world in societies, nations, companies, and so on. A family like ours in particular relies on unity to keep us moving forward toward a brighter future and a better tomorrow.
When we set big goals for ourselves oftentimes we overlook the profound affect others play into helping us achieve those goals and dreams. Think in the animal kingdom: alone ants are tiny, small, and weak. When they work together they form a strong army that builds and supports each other.
We are all here to make our goals and dreams come true, but it only happens if we all work together. Today we are firmly united and reminding you that unity is strength. I want you to remember this over the next couple days: you are not alone and you stand united with us…

5 Easy Quick Tips to Maximize your Website & Drive Your Business
- Finding your Monthly Points/Volume (Sales): Click on the word REPORTS on the left. Then click on My Central Team Quick Report. Use drop down boxes to select month and requested time frame, (Month to Date or Year to Date). This report is real time “live” for actual sales totals
Definitions:
Sales Points–Sales include Parties, quick orders, Website/on-line orders, on-line promotions, design-a-basket, Homestead/Homestead on-line orders, new home consultant business kits and samples. These are sales calculated for your team requirements. Incentives and Recognition are also based on your sales points.
Volume Sales-Sales on which commissions and leader overrides are paid. These include Parties, Quick Orders, Website/On-line orders, on-line promotions, Design-A-Basket, and Homestead/Homestead on-line orders.
- Viewing your Activity Report each month: Click on MY SALES on the left. At the bottom of the page, click on Activity Reports. Choose the month and click Get Report. New reports will post within 5-7 business days after month end closes.
- Connecting with your Leadership: Click on MY SALES on the left and then click on My Upline. This shows your Sponsor and those above your sponsor along with a link to email, address and phone number.
- Keeping up with the Latest: If you missed any communications from the company, find a copy listed under Email Archive; Resources. This is located at the top of your Landing Page and includes information such as Ecards and Longaberger News.
- Cannot figure it out?: On each page you will see a link that says More Info. Clicking on this link shows more information about that area. For example: Go to Party Central. Look for a link called “Party Central Users Guide”. On each page of the party, find the More Info link.

You can order your August 2016 Flyers through MailExpress now at Your Account Page, Business Tools, Tools, MailExpress. Orders must be submitted before midnight, Eastern Standard Time, on June 30. August flyers will mail the week of July 18, 2016.
All MailExpress mailings are now sent via First Class US Mail. This change allows for more reliable and timely delivery of flyers to your customers. There was a $0.15 per piece rate increase to accommodate this enhancement.

When you think about it, it really is! Not just like a birthday party with cake and balloons…or even just a home party to sell baskets…but a kind of ONGOING party where we share fun and good times with people we love.
In a lot of businesses – in fact, in most businesses – you have to conform, you have to follow a set of rules for everything you do.
At Longaberger, we experience our greatest success when we can just be ourselves – having fun; connecting with people; laughing; being happy! Of course we follow sensible rules – but what we do is not about procedures and sales, but instead about people and experiences.
When you truly understand what makes our business unique – and most of all, when you share it with others – I believe it’s almost impossible not to experience success.
So, in that spirit, I want to ask you a favor after you read this week’s note… I want you to do something that makes YOU happy – truly happy! Something that puts a smile on your face and song in your heart. :)

I can hardly find the words to tell you how much I’ve loved being a part this spectacular sales year from beginning to end! In fact, it’s been one of the most rewarding and special years of my life, thanks to all of you! Best of all – WE’RE JUST GETTING STARTED …this is only the first of many more exciting Longaberger years to come!

The June and July Flyers, campaign e-cards and Sell Sheets are all posted online in the Campaign-At-A Glance.
Remember,ALL new campaign tools, including e-cards and the Sell Sheet, are available on CAAG on the third Friday of every month, when samples and literature become available on Just For Business! The WishList and Woven Catalogue and e-cards, as well as all online offer e-cards, will continue to be posted under Tools. Here’s a quick snapshot of what to expect:

Technology tips you can use from your Consultant Support Team:
Selecting a Hostess on your party.
Your Consultant Support team receives many calls stating: “I thought I entered my hostess name, but the party is showing my name.”
How to successfully set up Hostess name on a party:
- Click on Create A Party- you will come to the Setup Screen
- Fill in the Invitation information in the fields marked Red in Section 1a
- Then click on “Save Party”
- You will see Section 1b appear
- Click on the drop down and choose your Hostess
- Then go to the right side of the page and click on “Save/Invite Host”
- Click on “Next”
- You should see your Hostess’ name in the Guest List in Section 1 with the letter “H” beside the name
- You should also see her name at the top of the screen as the Hostess
Tip 1: The system automatically puts you as the consultant in as Hostess.
Tip 2: If you are the hostess, be sure to click the drop down and choose your Customer file instead of your consultant file. That way you will not have to add your name in the Guest List, which saves a step

Also on June 18, Andy McCarty from Andy’s Auction Barn will be on site at Building B to conduct a Public Auction of some stuff we no longer need or use. At 10:00 a.m. sharp prop furniture from past photo shoots, old construction equipment and other miscellaneous pieces we no longer need, will be auctioned off. Think of it as a big moving sale as we take another step closer to moving into our new Home Office on the Manufacturing Campus. Enter through the Homestead entrance and follow the sale signs!
4th Annual People’s Choice Car Show – Saturday June 25
What is more fun than a summer day spent looking at beautiful cars, shopping; listening to music and eating great food? We will have all that and more at the 4th Annual People’s Choice Car Show from 9 to 6 on Saturday June 25th. The Longaberger Homestead and the Kanawha Valley Corvette Club are proud to be back with this car show and there is still plenty of time to make plans to attend and show off your hot rod, motorcycle, truck and antique or classic cars! All makes and models are welcome! $10.00 entry fee with on-site registration. Registration opens at 9:00am & closes at 10:00am. Driver meeting at 10:30am.
A special Kids Car show will be inside in the foyer so pack up your collection and be a part of the fun!

Month-End
- As a reminder, your personal and team sales for the previous month are not finalized until the month-end process is complete; online reports immediately following month-end may not display final totals
- Remember: the discount earned for sample purchases in the previous month will be updated when Month-End processing is complete
- Open Parties must be settled and closed to count toward month end sales and commissions
Year-End

MailExpress
You can order your August 2016 Flyers through MailExpress beginning June 10 at Your Account Page, Business Tools, Tools, MailExpress. Orders must be submitted before midnight, Eastern Standard Time, on June 30. August flyers will mail the week of July 18, 2016.
All MailExpress mailings are now sent via First Class US Mail. This change allows for more reliable and timely delivery of flyers to your customers. There was a $0.15 per piece rate increase to accommodate this enhancement.

Spring & Summer 2016 WishList Facts
On page 15 of the WishList, the prices for the WOVEN Big Daddy Bowl and Little Buddy Bowl are transposed. The correct price for the Big Daddy Bowl is $72 and the Little Buddy Bowl is $36.
WOVEN™ Facts
Although the products in WOVEN do not have a US flag beside them, they are made in America. The marketing and presentation of the WOVEN line is different from the traditional Longaberger line.
