Festival season is everywhere this time of year. Between the 4th of July, state fairs, and festivals to celebrate just about everything, you spend a lot of summer days at outdoor events! To help you stay safe, have a great time and survive your crazy festival season schedule, try some of the following tips:Never Leave Home Without it
As Ohioans, we know just how unpredictable weather can be, so our motto is “always be prepared!” It’s important to bring the essentials – that way, no matter what happens, your festival day can still be fun and rewarding.
Make sure to bring…
A packed lunch with ice packs (avoid those exhausting long lines at food trucks)
Charged cell phone
Patience (even if the worst happens, try to remember that festivals are about fun and creating new memories)
Along with a packed lunch, make sure to bring some tasty snacks to keep you fueled and enjoying your day! From sweet to salty, we’ve got the trail mix recipe you’re craving:
Mix dried cherries, dark chocolate chunks or chips, white chocolate chunks or chips and almonds
Mix Chex cereal, chocolate chips and peanuts
Let’s Get Salty-
Mix pretzels, popcorn, almonds, cashews, peanuts and raisins
Mix dried blueberries, dried cherries, dried cranberries and raisins – for a sweeter taste try adding chocolate-covered versions of these dried berries
Not So Nutty About Nuts-
Mix granola, flake cereal, Honey Nut Cheerios, raisins and M&Ms
Mix dried banana chips, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, granola and chocolate chips
We at the Big Basket want to wish you a wonderful festival season full of fun, safe adventures!! If you have a favorite go-to trail mix recipe, please be sure to share it with us in our comment section below!
